Gabrielle Penalta

Senior Associate Attorney

Gabrielle Alexa Penalta is a Senior Associate Attorney at The Penalta Law Firm, where she represents clients in complex civil litigation, regulatory matters, and insurance-related disputes. She brings a strong foundation in advocacy, writing, and litigation strategy, combined with hands-on experience across multiple practice areas.

Ms. Penalta earned her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law in Davie, Florida. During law school, she was an active member of the Moot Court Society and competed in the Dean Jerome Prince Memorial Evidence Moot Court Competition in Brooklyn, New York. She also received the Second-Best Brief Award in Nova’s Upperclassman Moot Court Competition.

In addition to her advocacy work, Ms. Penalta held several leadership roles, including President of the Animal Law Club, Director of Public Relations for the Hispanic Student Bar Association, Community Service Co-Chair for the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and Law School Ambassador for the College of Law admissions office. She was awarded the Excellence in Pro Bono Award for completing more than 75 hours of pro bono service while in law school.

While in law school, Ms. Penalta completed summer internships with the Honorable Judge Robert Diaz of the 17th Judicial Circuit and with the State of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Office of the General Counsel, gaining early exposure to judicial and regulatory practice.

Ms. Penalta earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida, majoring in Animal Science with a minor in Innovation. She was a member of the inaugural class of the University of Florida’s Innovation Academy, an interdisciplinary program emphasizing ethics, creativity, entrepreneurship, collaboration, and leadership.

She began her legal career at a civil litigation firm handling general litigation and intellectual property matters, later serving as Director of the Intellectual Property Department and litigating cases nationwide. She also practiced at a large insurance defense firm, focusing on general liability, automotive negligence, and premises liability.

A native Floridian born in Daytona Beach, Ms. Penalta has deep ties to the community. Outside of her legal practice, she enjoys spending time outdoors, with her family, and volunteering with animal-related organizations.

Ms. Penalta is admitted to practice in Florida and is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida.
